Making an old or damaged piece of furniture look new again often involves all three of these processes. Furniture refinishing makes the surface look like new again by furniture stripping the old wood finishes, sanding the rough edges, and staining or painting wood furniture again. Furniture repairing involves fixing the nicks, gouges, and broken pieces that may have gotten damaged over time, as well as the structural integrity of the furniture. Antique restoration, or any type of furniture restoration really, encompasses all of these things as well as cleaning antique wood furniture and the replacing of knobs, hinges, and handles. At the end of all or some of these processes, you have a like-new piece of furniture for you to adorn your home or for you to sell.
We estimate the cost of your work based on the current condition of the furniture, the size of the piece, and the number of man-hours that must be put in to restore it. In order to give you the most accurate proposal on your furniture or antique restoration, we prefer to prepare estimates in person. The extensive experience of our staff allows us to provide a reasonable cost on sight that is tailored to your specific furniture restoration needs. When we look at the furniture, we review the time estimate of the project, the materials of wood, and the wood finish repair materials that will be needed. Based on your expectations and requests, we will provide an estimate where there will be no surprises later.
Generally, we complete our finish repair projects, from picking up to returning your completed piece, within two weeks. There is no down payment required, but payment is due in full by cash or check at the time of delivery and your approval of the work. Credit cards are not accepted.
